When I’ve done breathwork in the past, my hands and/or feet became tense and tingly. Does this mean I shouldn’t practice breathwork?
This is a totally normal experience, called Tetany. It’s caused by the rapid oxygenation you experience from rapid, deep breathing, which leads to an alkalising effect on the body. If you experience this, just know that it happens very often and is nothing to worry about. You are completely safe! Simply return to normal breathing, take a few deep breaths and the sensations will go away by themselves after a short period of time without effort. All you need to do is just relax and enjoy the ride!
