Breathwork has the power to give practitioners control over their stress, anxiety, depression, digestion, sleep, and mood, just to name a few of the most profound benefits. I’ve seen Breathwork lead to breakthroughs in a single session. Teaching these techniques gives my life purpose. Breathwork is the modality that I had been unconsciously searching for my entire life, and I intend to pass along this wisdom until the day I die.
Mouth allows for more oxygen, more airflow faster, activates more quickly. Allows greater access to the emotions. Nasal is for daily breathing, and recommended for sleeping as well. If you prefer to breathe through the nose, you can, but I encourage you to be open to doing the practices as I present them. So if it’s a mouth breathing exercise, do your best to breathe through the mouth.
Breathing activates energy, energy activates feelings and sensations in our body, and then our mind reacts to those sensations. The goal is to feel everything, and react to nothing. Allow whatever comes up, don’t judge yourself, don’t try to figure it out. The body has its own intelligence. Simply focus your energy and intention of staying present to the breath, allow yourself to release whatever comes up, and the body will automatically deal with whatever comes up.
This is a totally normal experience, called Tetany. It’s caused by the rapid oxygenation you experience from rapid, deep breathing, which leads to an alkalising effect on the body. If you experience this, just know that it happens very often and is nothing to worry about. You are completely safe! Simply return to normal breathing, take a few deep breaths and the sensations will go away by themselves after a short period of time without effort. All you need to do is just relax and enjoy the ride!
Science has linked many physical benefits to breathwork, including increasing your alertness and boosting your immune system. My personal experience (and the feedback from my clients) has show beyond any doubt that a regular breathwork practice leads to a significant reduction in stress, anxiety and depression, as well as increased clarity & focus, feeling more grounded & connected, and an overall greater sense of general well being & deeper connection to your own life’s purpose. So just come in with an open mind, set an intention, and release all expectations. Some days you’ll feel invincible, other days you may feel sad. It’s all part of the process, and everyone’s journey is unique to them.
